second step -- action -- 4th wall
Nov. 25th, 2013 02:55 pm[Itachi's grip on his sanity was stubborn, a necessity, but still tenuous after dealing with certain events in his homeworld and then immediately being brought into this... children's fantasy. He pressed on because he had goals, things to get back to, a purpose that drives him.
He had been long on his way to Lavender Town, but somehow he's found himself back in Goldenrod again, or at least outside of it. This is confusing, yet still bearable. His pokemon still need further training before taking on the first gym leader as it is...
But there's only so much one person can take, and the straw that breaks the camel's back is the image he's faced with now - himself, eight years in the future. The other stands there quietly, watching, expression unreadable. But the younger Itachi doesn't have to be able to read him to feel as if he's being judged by himself.
Control of his chakra has been returned to him - that much he could tell right away. Knowing this doesn't help his decision. This whole place is an illusion, then. A trick of the mind - perhaps his own mind. Perhaps he'd snapped and this image now is here to remind him of what he's supposed to be. In that case, the best decision would probably be to speak to his reflection and work things out, learn what he can. This is what he would do had this happened while he was in a better mindset.
But it isn't what he does now. Instead, eyes slightly wild, he runs at himself, demanding answers with a yell and a flare of chakra. The calm manner in which his older self retaliates only serves to aggravate him further.]
---
[Later, beaten, the younger of the two can be found sitting with his back to the wall outside of the gate into town, exhausted but no longer outwardly angry.
As for his older self, he'll be exploring the city with some small amount of fascination, a chimchar sitting on one shoulder as though this it the most natural thing in the world.]
((ooc: Should you wish to run into or speak with older Itachi at any point, he'll be around the city for most of the event and I will be using the journal
